Tetra Tech Engineer Joseph R. Tamburini is a Recipient of the
“Young Professional of the Year Award” and “Colorado New Faces of Engineering Award” from the American Council of Engineering Companies (ACEC)
Denver, Colorado – February 26, 2009. Tetra Tech, a professional engineering and consulting firm, would like to congratulate Joseph R. Tamburini, PE of Tetra Tech Denver, as the winner of the “Colorado ACEC 2009 New Faces of Engineering Award” and as a recipient (1 of 5 nationally) of the “2009 ACEC Young Professional of the Year Award” of which over 60 were nominated.
The American Council of Engineering Companies (ACEC) represents over 5500 engineering companies nationwide, and strives to promote the accomplishments of young engineers by highlighting their engineering contributions and the resulting impact on society. As part of Engineering Week 2009, ACEC-Colorado announced that Mr. Tamburini was the recipient of the “Colorado ACEC 2009 New Faces of Engineering Award” from a field of over a dozen nominees. Through his Colorado recognition he was also nominated to ACEC’s national program, where he is one of five recipients of the “2009 ACEC Young Professional of the Year Award”. For his accomplishments, Mr. Tamburini will be recognized at ACEC’s national meeting in the Palm Springs in Fall 2009, and was submitted to www.eweek.com for consideration in an additional awards program for the National Engineers Week Foundation, whereby national nominees were submitted by organizations like ACEC, ASCE, ASME, USACOE.
Mr. Tamburini joined Tetra Tech in 2002 and has become a vital resource for engineering projects and training. He specializes in water and wastewater treatment systems engineering, design, process evaluations and construction services; and has led the design of five arsenic removal treatment plants. Joe also develops computer modeling and process simulation tools for water, wastewater and air emissions, and maintains the American Water Works Association licensed software: Model for Softening Calculations; Model for Corrosion Control & Process Chemistry; and, Blending Application Package 4.0. Joe has also co-instructed Tetra Tech’s Activated Sludge Process Control and Process Control Troubleshooting and Optimization training for staff of U.S. and international treatment systems since 2005.
In addition to Joe’s achievement, last year Tetra Tech’s Sherri Jones was the recipient of the Colorado “Outstanding Women in Engineering” award for 2008 presented by ACEC-CO.
